There are many things to do in and around St. Pete Beach. You may be interested in several of these attractions.	St. Pete Beach is located on a the South end of the barrier islands on the West Coast of Florida, just a 45 minute drive from Tampa International Airport. Originally incorporated as St. Petesburg Beach, the city name was changed to St. Pete Beach in 1994 to distinquish it from the larger city of St. Petersburg which lies to the East of St. Pete Beach. Gulf Way continues South past the Don Sasar to the historic beach community of Pass-A-Grill. St. Pete Beach offers many fine resturants and several shopping areas. Access to the mainlnad is via the Pinellas Bayway leading past Eckerd College to the Skyway Bridge and Sarasota to the South, and via the Pasadena Ave. bridge leading to the mainland city of Pasadena. St. Pete Beach boasts a wide variety of residental opportunities, and also attracts many tourist due to it's wide sandy beaches and convenient proximity to many Florida Attractions including Topicana Field, the St. Petersburg Pier, and Museums and entertainment venues in the city of St. Petersburg. Busch Gardens, Walt Disney World, Universal Studio, and Sea World are all a convenient drive. The area provides an abundance of vacation rental options, nearby outstanding restaurants, and a variety of gift and convenience stores. Gulf Boulevard runs North from St. Pete Beach, all the way up the barrier islands to the Sand Key area of Clearwater Beach. Directly to the North is Treasure Island and to the East is the City of St. Petersburg.
